As a model range we've had the 70 series since the mid 1980s, and the evolution continues. A dual cab ute became the latest version in late 2012. We've gone from atmo diesels and petrols through to the torquey 4.5-litre V8 turbodiesel of today. It now features ABS and front airbags, but lacks the modern tech that abounds in the 200 series and of course, most of its opposition. It's an unashamed workhorse with links that go way back. A perusal of the scant options list provides insight " yep that's right, the long-range fuel tank is a delete option.
