This has been a very reliable car for the past six years that we've owned it and is still being driven regularly. Overall, it's a neat looking car but does have some small marks and scratches. Stepping up to the crease with a new Forester brings more refinement, more frugality and more of the expected connectivity a new (and current) generation of buyer demands. Steadfastly maintaining its 4x4 only status here, Subaru confirms its commitment with the introduction of X-mode (CVT models only), bringing intelligent control to the AWD system, especially in slippery conditions. It's a marginally larger car overall, with increased cargo space and much better legroom for rear seat passengers. Engine configurations remain much the same power-wise, with improved fuel consumption, although the XT does receive an extra dose of oomph.
