Overview
The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is at the top end of the commercial van/cab-chassis market, but it makes a compelling, cost-effective workhorse nonetheless. Being a Mercedes, safety plays a big role with things like ESP stability control and a driver airbag standard across the entire range. Turbodiesels include two 2.1-litre four-cylinders producing either 80kW/280Nm or 110kW/330Nm, or a 135kW/400Nm three-litre V6, and there's a 115kW/240Nm supercharged petrol/CNG version. Transmissions are six-speed manual or five-speed auto. The cab-chassis can be had in medium or long-wheelbase form, or as a single or dual-cab with payloads ranging from 1.8 tonnes to just over three tonnes.
