They've hit the heights with the 5.5-litre 395kW/800Nm twin turbo V8 of the SL63 (a little over 400 Grand) and the 6.0-litre 463kW/100Nm twin turbo V12 of the SL65, with its drive away price of just under half a million dollars thank you very much. Even with their alloy body shells and componentry, they're still nearly two tonnes, kerb weight. Not that it has any real effect on performance. The SL65 can achieve a 0-100kmh time in four seconds or under, with the SL63 just over. Top speeds are limited to 250kmh, but you just know that's at least 60kmh shy of the potential.
