Hyundai's ix35 has been updated to the LM2. It's the same high-style competitor for Nissan X-Trail, Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4 and Volkswagen Tiguan offering the usual value for money proposition, as well as a practical, decent-size interior with extra niceties. Base engine is a 122kW/197Nm 2.0-litre petrol supplemented by a 130kW/227Nm 2.4-litre - and a torquey 135kW/392Nm 2.0-litre turbo diesel. The base front-drive Active version is joined by the Elite auto version. Transmissions include a new six-speed auto and a five-speed manual. Stability control, ABS, six airbags and active front head restraints are standard across the range.
