Reliable family SUV – 2013 Hyundai ix35 Active Automatic – Perfect for the daily school run or weekend adventures!
We’re reluctantly selling our trusty 2013 Hyundai ix35 Active (automatic) because our kids have now moved on to high school and are happily catching public transport. This has been our faithful second car for the past two years – mainly used for school drop-offs, pick-ups, and the occasional family trip around Sydney’s North Shore.
Mechanically, it’s in excellent condition with no issues at all during our ownership. It comes with a full service history and has been very well maintained. The 2.0L petrol engine and smooth automatic transmission make it easy and economical to drive every day.
Like any well-used family car, it has a few honest imperfections on the interior and exterior (all clearly shown in the photos) – nothing major, just normal wear from kids and everyday use. But mechanically, it’s rock solid and very reliable.

Hyundai's ix35 has been updated to the LM2. It's the same high-style competitor for Nissan X-Trail, Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4 and Volkswagen Tiguan offering the usual value for money proposition, as well as a practical, decent-size interior with extra niceties. Base engine is a 122kW/197Nm 2.0-litre petrol supplemented by a 130kW/227Nm 2.4-litre - and a torquey 135kW/392Nm 2.0-litre turbo diesel. The base front-drive Active version is joined by the Elite auto version. Transmissions include a new six-speed auto and a five-speed manual. Stability control, ABS, six airbags and active front head restraints are standard across the range.
