A complete re-design has helped the Touareg achieve better off-road ability, reduce fuel consumption and emissions, along with improved passenger comfort and safety. Engines are either two 3.0-litre diesels of different power and a 3.6-litre petrol. All are V6s driving all four wheels via an eight-speed Tiptronic auto and VWs renowned 4x4 system.
