Overview
In 1976, VW's Golf single-handedly created the front-drive small car category. Today it remains true to its roots, with many styling cues connecting it to the three-door original. But it's more refined, bigger and better in every way. The Golf hatch offers multitudinous variants, from the base Edition models to the snarling R32 V6. Outstanding safety, packaging and road manners are a given across the range. As the first quick Golf, the GTi has imbedded itself into folklore, today using a 147kW/280Nm turbo 2.0-litre driving through six-speed manual or DSG transmission. Equipment includes sports suspension, body kit, sports seats and six-CD 10-speaker audio.
