This 2012 Volkswagen Caddy is fitted out to carry two bikes on a slide-out platform, a week's worth of food in the fridge, and everything else you need for a weekend getaway or a month-long riding trip up and down the coast.
Regretful sale to move overseas, I'd take her with me if I could.
FEATURES:
- Blackvue 750x front dashcam with wiring for rear camera in back door - rear camera included
- Slide-out for two bikes on Rockmounts, for reference the big bike in the pics is an S4 stumpy
- Slide-out drawer for tools etc
- Kings 2400mm awning with wall and floor
- Kings roof-mounted solar panel, Ctek D250SE charger, 100aH second battery
- 12V fridge/freezer
- Slide out kitchen
- Water tank (60L I think) with 8L/min water pump to rear hose outlet - bikes always go in clean :)
- Space for bike stand, tools, helmets, chairs, camping stuff, tents, swags, a week of cold food in the fridge and weeks worth of dry food above, everything you need to go riding for weeks at a time
INCLUDED:
- Matching wall and floor for the Kings awning
- Pegs, rope, hammer
- Hose that works for both filling the tank and washing the bikes
THE GOOD:
- Fitout is super functional and in great condition. I used this van for three seasons of racing enduro around NSW, road trips from Ballina to Bright, it carries everything I need for a full weekend of racing or a three-to-four-week road trip
- I've put 60,000km on it, has been completely reliable with exactly zero issues
- Freshly serviced
- 6 months rego, next pink slip November 2026
- Serviced to VW logbook spec by Euro Car Centre every 12,500km since I purchased it
- Fridge is cold and will hold a week of food for one person
- The fridge will run for about three days with no sun and no driving, but if the sun is out or you drive a bit every couple of days then the fridge will stay cold 24/7
- You could easily optimise the space by hanging things on the walls... I always had plans to add hooks for the bike stand and pockets inside the back doors for things like shoes and gloves, but there was already more than enough space for me so it never felt like a priority
- The central locking automatically locks itself (you'll never forget to lock it)
- Tyres 60-80%
THE BAD:
- I haven't been able to keep up with the detailing for about the past six months, so a polish and wax would do her a lot of good *
- There are some areas where the paint is beginning to peel without sign of rust
- There's evidence of a repair to the rear passenger quarter, this area has clear signs of rust
- Rear passenger door latch doesn't catch, annoying but not a showstopper
- The central locking automatically locks itself (don't leave the key in it)
- Shocks will be due for replacement in the next 10-20,000km
- Timing belt status is UNKNOWN - I was told it was done at 200k but it could never be confirmed, so consider it overdue. If I was keeping the car I'd consider doing it at the next service to be sure, then the next belt can be done at 400k as per the logbook *
* Items marked with an asterisk are on a list for me to try and do in the next few weeks if it doesn't sell. Price shown is AS IS, once these are done the price goes up.
The vehicle is garaged in Newcastle but I can arrange a viewing anywhere along the coast from here to Bega, snowy mountains, ACT, blue mountains, or central west. Message me to arrange a meetup!
