Overview
Following firmly in the footsteps of the Kia Soul, the Toyota Rukus is jockeying for some of the action. The boxy shape has a few people scratching their heads, but that's car styling for you. The Rukus comes in three equipment levels known as Build 1, 2 and 3. All 'Builds' are powered by a 2.4-litre four that produces 123kW/224Nm and returns 8.8L/100km. Drive is via a four-speed auto to the front wheeels. Standard safety features include six airbags, stability and traction control and ABS. Other standard features of every Rukus include air-conditioning, 16-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, keyless entry and ignition, and power mirrors and windows.
