981 S Convertible 2dr Man 6sp 3.4i Similarly to the 991 series Porsche 911, the latest Boxster is lighter, with a longer wheelbase than its predecessor and offers more power from worked-over powerplants. The base 195kW/280Nm 2.7-litre horizontally opposed, mid-mounted six gets the Boxster to 100km/h in 5.7 seconds while the gruntier 232kW/360Nm 3.4-litre S version reaches that mark in 5.0 seconds. Transmission choices include a six-speed manual or a seven-speed PDK automated manual. Like the 911, the Boxster's extra length and wider tracks are all about handling rather than augmenting interior space - although it is up slightly. Also 911-style, the Boxster now gets electro mechanical power steering.
