I’m truly sorry to have to sell our Peugeot 508, it’s such a joy to drive and so practical. But I’ve wanted an EV for a few years, and when a bargain came up recently I couldn’t resist. So goodbye Purge.
This very economical 1.6l 4-cylinder turbo petrol 508 wagon has covered only 108,000km, mostly during long trips (ideal for maximising engine life). Gets as little as 5.5l/100km on the freeway, fully loaded, and can get 1000km out of a full tank. Sleek, stylish, drives beautifully, and the famous Peugeot suspension is superb, especially when cornering and on rough roads. Luxurious, well-maintained, extremely comfortable leather seats. Large boot (700l, seats up; they fold flat) and roof racks make it a great cargo carrier and family car. Two owners, both non-smokers. Near-new tyres, rego until October. Comes with roadworthy certificate, manual and full service history.
Some of its other great features: parking sensors, sunroof with retractable internal shade, rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry (2 keys), alloy wheels, power windows, a very well-designed cruise control system, fully adjustable front seating, Bluetooth audio, a 12-volt outlet in the boot (great for a car fridge), auto-retracting side mirrors, a powered tailgate, and 6 airbags (ANCAP safety rating of 5).
It has a few minor dings from parking incidents (see photos), and some trivial scrapes, as is nearly inevitable for a car of this age, and is missing one roof rack end cover (which doesn’t affect rack use – the covers are totally cosmetic).
