Peugeot's "Series II" 308 has been restyled, repackaged, weight reduced and given cleaner, more efficient credentials with its "e-HDi Technology" which basically cuts the engine at low speeds and traffic lights, plus using regenerative braking. As such, fuel consumption and carbon emissions are reduced over preceding models. There's a 72kW/160Nm, 6.3L/100km 1.4 petrol, an 88kW/160Nm, 6.6L/100km 1.6 petrol, a 115kW/240Nm, 6.6L/100km turbo 1.6 petrol, an 82kW/270Nm, 4.4L/100km 1.6 turbodiesel, and finally a 120kW/340Nm, 6.7L/100km turbodiesel. Most come with a six-speed manual or optional six-speed auto. Storage space is cleverly utilized compared to its rivals, and safety features are right up there.
