Overview
The re-introduced Challenger (2009) shares nothing mechanically with the previous version discontinued in 2007. It's actually based on the current workhorse Triton, thus sharing the same ladder chassis, associated serious hauling ability and high ride. That hasn't preventing the engineers from designing a vehicle that gives a more car-like ride and feel in a two-tonne plus, five-door 4x4. The suspension is all coil with more sophisticated geometry than the Triton - double wishbone up front and three-link at the rear. Safety levels are good, but you'll be paying for side and curtain airbags in the lower spec models.
