Overview
KIA's stylish third generation Sportage hits the spot with high standard equipment levels. These include six airbags, stability control, four-wheel antilock disc brakes, hill start/descent assist systems, steering wheel-mounted cruise controls, iPod-compatible six-disc audio, aircon, power mirrors/windows, keyless entry and mirror-mounted LED indicators. For the SLi wagon, motive force comes from a 2.4-litre petrol engine developing 130kW/227Nm and returning 9.2 L/100km through its six-speed 'Sports Automatic'. Added goodies include the intelligent 'Dynamax' AWD system, 17-inch alloys, reversing camera, trip computer, dual zone aircon and roof rails. Also consider Subaru's Forester, Honda's CRV, Nissan's X-Trail/Dualis, Mazda's CX-7 and the Hyundai ix35.
