Compared to the previous Rio there's more interior space and a better ride/handling compromise, specifically tuned for local conditions. The new benchmark 103kW/167Nm, 1.6-litre petrol engine benefits from direct injection, returning 5.6L/100km in manual form (actually lower than the 1.4) and emitting 133g/km of CO2. Equipment levels are taken to new levels for the outlay. With all models " S, Si, SLS (three-door) and SLi - fitted with ABS, stability/traction control, brake-force assist, hill-hold and six airbags, it gains a five star ANCAP rating.
