Overview
The WM II 3.6 Gi Caprice also runs the current six-speed auto. This alone improves fuel consumption, but the in-house developed LPG system delivers the bulk. Unlike the direct liquid injection system in the Falcon, this delivers port injected vapour. It's only when revved out the Ford gains the upper hand. Seemingly running old-tech, the Commodore still has the lead in economy, low down torque and emissions. For daily driving it is indistinguishable from petrol models, including no-wait instant starting. Due to lack of under floor space there's a tyre inflation kit, or an optional, boot-residing, space-saver or normal, spare.
