Driveline choices include a 300kW/600Nm 4.4-litre turbo V8 (650i) and a 235kW/450Nm 3.0-litre TwinPower turbo six (640i), both driving through an eight-speed auto transmission. Luxury coupes hardly come any plusher than the 6 Series, while the soft-top convertible adds an extra dimension with a multi-layered roof that folds away to provide an unimpeded view of the universe. The 6 Series coupe in fact formed the basis for BMW's slinky new Gran Coupe four-door.
