Volkswagen's Eos has a real ace up its sleeve: As well as a metal folding hardtop, it also builds-in a sliding glass sunroof that makes it a full, al fresco convertible one minute, and a metal-roofed coupe, with sunroof, the next. It seats four people quite well, and is decently quick with two 2.0-litre engines - a 103kW/320Nm turbo diesel, or a 147kW/280Nm turbo petrol and six-speed manual or DSG transmissions.
