Overview
Competing against Audi's A1, Citroen's DS3 and Alfa's Mito, the MINI Cooper D moves forward with a more powerful and frugal, 82kW/270Nm, 3.9L/100km in-house 1.6-litre turbodiesel. Exterior changes have added almost 100mm to the freshened-up nose (to comply with Euro pedestrian safety regulations), and rearward the new LED brake lights grow brighter as brake pedal pressure increases. New alloy wheel designs come in 15, 16 and 17-inch. Inside, audio controls are now laid out conventionally. There are auto headlights, foglights, rain sensing wipers and velour floor mats. Underpinnings remain basically the same, for that inspirational MINI ride.
