Overview
Midst Cheyne-Stokes, the Defender gets a short reprieve via a new 2.2-litre turbodiesel that can comply with Euro 5 specs in markets that require it. Even so, there's precious little time left for the model. With looming worldwide, ever increasing, safety requirements there aren't many places it can hide. The current cab/chassis is produced in 110 and 130-inch wheelbase form - single or dual cab. Mid 2011 it was fitted with a new manual six-speed transmission, a revised bonnet, new dashboard, upgraded heating/ventilation and redesigned cloth seats with three-point seatbelts. ABS and traction control are still optional on most models.
