Overview
Hyundai's Tucson small SUV is replaced by the ix35 - a high-style competitor for Nissan X-Trail, Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4 and Volkswagen Tiguan offering the usual value for money proposition, as well as a practical, decent-size interior. Base engine is a 122kW/197Nm 2.0-litre petrol supplemented by a 130kW/227Nm 2.4-litre - and a torquey 135kW/392Nm 2.0-litre turbo diesel. As with Tucson, a base front-drive version, now dubbed Active, is available. Transmissions include a new six-speed auto and a five-speed manual. Stability control, ABS, six airbags and active front head restraints are standard across the range.
