The VE Series II Omega, with its 3.0-litre SIDI V6, introduces us to E85 'flex fuel'. That's up to 85% ethanol mixed with at least 15% petrol. On straight petrol it produces 190kW/290Nm and returns 9.1L/100km through the six-speed auto and 16-inch alloys. Unfortunately the Australian standard for E85 is yet to come. This model is very well equipped -standout is the new iQ system, noted for its flexibility in sound inputs and general ease of use.
