Overview
Running 77mm more body length (not wheelbase) the Series II Captiva 7 has room to fit that all-important third row of seats the Captiva 5 doesn't. With increased equipment levels, including an electronic parking brake, hill-start assist, self-levelling suspension, more storage options than one has fingers and toes, plus more airbags, its pricing has remained the same and even fallen for some models. In 4x4-on-demand guise it's six-speed auto only with the re-introduction of a turbodiesel in 135kW/400Nm 8.5L/100km form. Also available are a 123kW/230Nm, 9.1L/100km, 2.4-litre petrol, and the locally manufactured 190kW/288Nm, 11.3L/100km, 3.0-litre petrol V6.
