Overview
Unveiled at the Melbourne Motor Show, the all new LW focus, now made in Germany, promises higher passive and active safety levels in a stronger, stiffer, lighter package. The Sport, Trend and Titanium Hatchback/Sedan models get the 125kW/202Nm, 2.0-litre petrol engine driving the front wheels through a five-speed manual or dual-clutch six-speed auto. Optionally there's the 120kW/340Nm, 5.5L/100km, 2.0-litre turbodiesel auto. With head (shaped to reduce chest injuries for the driver), side and curtain airbags for all occupants, hill start assist and "Torque Vectoring Control" combined with ABS, stability control et al, it deservedly achieves a five-star ANCAP rating.
