The A4 is Audi's volume seller, going head-to-head with BMW's 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. It differs in two major ways: it is widely front-wheel drive, and is the only car in its class to offer all-wheel drive. Svelte but practical Avant wagons have long been a fixture in Audi's line-up too, and the current A4 version arrived here with the new B8 sedans in 2008. Avant engine choices include 1.8 and 2.0-litre petrol turbos and 2.0 and 2.7-litre turbo diesels.
