The LandCruiser is unquestionably the benchmark for serious, capable off-road 4WDs # and has been that way for as long as most can remember. The latest 200 series introduced in 2007 doesn#t hold back with more space and exclusively V8 petrol or turbodiesel power. Largesse is the byword here, with the 4.7-litre petrol V8 producing 202kW and 410Nm and the 4.5-litre turbodiesel 195kW and 650Nm. Full-time 4WD with a two-speed transfer case is a given, while a Torsen centre differential, downhill and start assist, and automatic climate control are standard on all versions, as are front, front side and curtain airbags.
