Overview
The E-Class Benz cabriolet is about as pampering as a four-seat convertible gets. Stemming from the new E-Class sedan but using a shorter wheelbase, the soft-top seats four in style and comfort while offering similar ride quality and handling to the hardtop E-Class models. The E500's 5.5-litre V8 produces a stirring 285kW/530Nm and drives through a seven-speed auto transmission. Top down, the E-Class offers a reasonably generous 300-litre boot that opens to 390 litres with the roof in place. Safety gear includes seven airbags, pop-up rollover bars behind the rear seats, plus all the usual Benz dynamic safety aids.
