Overview
Like the GS Lexus, the IS series walked away from inline six-cylinder power when the latest version was launched in November 2005. Today's IS Lexus uses a 2.5-litre V6 giving more power and, importantly, more torque than the 2.0-litre IS200. With 153kW and 252Nm, plus six-speed manual or auto choices, the IS250 has more spring in its step, even with the edge taken off by a big weight increase. The IS250 brings other advantages including better-again handling and a bigger interior. Standard gear includes stability and traction control, eight airbags, 16-inch alloys, automatic climate control, leather trim, and heated and powered front seats.
