Overview
Two decades on, and there's still no doubt the Discovery is a competent off-roader. The Series 4 concentrates on improving on-road behavior, sporting more modern looks and equipment levels, thus bringing it closer to the Mercedes ML and BMW X5 market, while maintaining its off-road credibility. The TdV6 now comes standard with 18-inch alloys, dual zone climate control, five-seat accommodation, cloth trim, electrically heated and adjustable mirrors colour-coded bumpers and rear parking sensors, plus all occupants are protected by airbags. Power comes from a 140kW/440Nm, 10.2L/100km, 2.7-litre V6 turbodiesel, or the optional 180kW/600Nm, 9.3L/100km, 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel.
