Honda's CR-V has been in the small SUV breakaway group almost from day one - a favourite in the class with its handy SUV proportions, nippy on-demand 4WD road manners, upmarket road presence and plenty of interior space. The 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine produces 125kW/218Nm, driving a six-speed manual or five-speed auto. Stability control and ABS are standard. Five adults are carried comfortably, with storage space maxing out at two cubic metres-plus. A facelift version for 2010 gets a new look outside, six airbags and a more refined suspension for improved ride and handling.
