Bigger and more impressive to behold, more spacious and stylish inside and very competitively priced, it signalled Honda's serious small-car intent. The four-door sedan has a 376-litre boot accessible from inside and comes with three engine choices: 1.8 and 2.0-litre four-cylinders, or a 1.3-litre petrol-electric hybrid. Conventional Civics produce 103kW/174Nm in 1.8-litre form, or 114kW/188Nm as a 2.0-litre, both offering five-speed manual or auto transmissions. Choose any Civic and you drive away with air-conditioning, cruise control, dual front airbags, ABS and four-speaker CD audio.
