Overview
Holden's billion-dollar VE Commodore launched in August 2006, bringing new levels of sophistication, safety, dynamics, comfort, space and style. Depending on model, engine options include 180kW/330Nm and 195kW/340Nm versions of the 3.6-litre V6, as well as a thumping 6-litre 270kW/530Nm V8. The VE SS Commodore takes no prisoners with its 270kW/530Nm 6-litre V8 and the choice of six-speed manual or auto transmissions. As the performance flagship, the SS gets 18-inch alloys, a body kit and hunkered-down FE2 sports suspension. The experience continues inside where there is SS-specific trim, grippy seats, a six-stack CD sound system and leather-rimmed steering wheel.
