The A4 is Audi's volume seller, going head-to-head with BMW's 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. It differs in two major ways: it is widely front-wheel drive, and is the only car in its class to offer all-wheel drive. The current A4 arrived her in April 2008 with a bigger cabin, more refinement, improved handling and extra standard equipment. Engine choices include two petrol four-cylinders, three turbo diesels - two-litre four-cylinder, 2.7-litre and 3.0-litre V6 and a quattro 3.2-litre petrol V6 with 6-speed Tiptronic transmission. Choose the 140kW/400Nm multitronic-only 2.7-litre V6 Avant TDI turbo diesel and you get smooth, rapid performance and impressive 6.6l/100km fuel economy.
