Nissan seems bent on not making waves with many of its latest releases. X-Trail, Murano and now, Maxima, succeed old models without dramatically changing the looks. But even though the latest Maxima could easily be mistaken for the last, it still looks contemporary. The 3.5-litre V6 now produces 185kW/326Nm for smooth, responsive performance via the standard X-tronic CVT transmission. All models ST-L, ST-S and Ti - are fitted with stability and traction control and six airbags. The Ti adds a reversing camera to the across-the-board standard Xenon headlights and 17-inch alloys.
