Overview
Hyundai's Tucson SUV stepped into line below the Santa Fe in 2004, offering a first-time V6 in the segment. The Honda CR-V size Korean SUV applied Hyundai's slick-price, slick-style formula successfully and quickly added the FWD-only City version in 2005. The Tucson offers the high-riding, occasional off-road experience of its mainly Japanese peers, along with a spacious, handy cab. The original, part-time 4WD 129kW/241Nm 2.7-litre Tucson V6 SX is fitted out similarly to the FWD City SX with stability and traction control, dual front airbags, air-conditioning, fatter-tyred 16-inch alloys and four-speaker CD audio.
