Honda's CR-V has been in the small SUV breakaway group almost from day one -- a favourite in the class with its handy, SUV proportions, nippy on-demand 4WD road manners, and plenty of interior space. The third generation CR-V came in early 2007, adding more room inside, better road manners and uplifted exterior and interior presentation. The 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine produces 125kW/218Nm, driving a six-speed manual or five-speed auto. Five adults are carried comfortably, with storage space maxing out at two cubic metres-plus. Upgrade to Luxury and you gain parking sensors, leather trim and heated front seats, powered on the driver's side.
