Ute
Overview
The traditional Australian ute gets more refined and lifestyle-oriented as successive new models arrive. The VE is by far the best driver's Holden ute yet, with standard stability control and a new multi-link rear suspension providing on-road dynamics that would astound previous ute drivers. Payloads extend from just over 500kg to a little more than 800kg, with engine options including the direct injection, 210kW/350Nm 3.6-litre V6 and, in SS, the storming 270kW 6-litre V8. Model-depending, transmissions range from six-speed manual to six-speed autos. All utes from base Omega come with stability and traction control, six airbags, cruise control and a part-power driver's seat.
