Overview
Ford treads a slightly different path to Holden with its latest FG utes. The Falcon workhorses have become far more refined, but still maintain a load-toting edge with base utes able to carry up to 775kg. The XR6 ute, which carries less than this, is available with the rapid 195kW/391Nm six in six-speed manual or five-speed auto form, or the 156kW/371Nm E-Gas six with a four-speed auto. It adds 17-inch alloys, traction control, sport suspension and an XR body kit as well as automatic climate-control, XR seats and sports steering wheel. Still no stability control, but dual airbags are standard and side bags optional.
