Some cars are born for success. For Chrysler, the 300C was an immediate hit when it arrived here with arrogant American looks, truckloads of power and surprisingly competitive pricing. The fact it stemmed from an E-Class Benz helped too. For the big Chrysler, a three-litre Mercedes V6 turbodiesel punching out 160kW and 510Nm is a nice fit as well. With a combined fuel consumption of 8.1l/100 and faster acceleration than the petrol V6, it makes an awful lot of sense and goes a long way towards justifying the $4000 price premium.
