From the five-door 1 Series hatch, the 1 Series convertible has grown. With less focus on practicality, the little BMW soft top becomes a reasonably affordable lifestyle statement that seats four, is fun to drive, classy and cute to look at. It's available with four or six-cylinder engines providing performance varying from adequate to electrifying. The new 2.0-litre 118d and 123d turbodiesels combine urgent performance with satisfying thrift and low emissions. The 123d produces 150kW/400Nm and returns 5.4l/100km in six-speed manual form (5.9l/100km for the auto). It reaches 100km/h in 7.5 seconds (7.6 for the auto).
