The Audi A8 is closer in weight to a large luxury sedan than the full-size, Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series competitor it actually is. As a result, the sizeable all-aluminium Audi joins Jaguar's XJ series with all the refinement of its formidable competitors, but manages to do everything a little more efficiently. The air-suspended, all-quattro 4WD flagship sedan offers a bewildering array of engine choices, as well as two wheelbase options. The 4.1-litre TDI turbodiesel V8 produces 240kW/ 650Nm, and drives through an Audi 6-speed tiptronic auto transmission. Satellite navigation, TV, adaptive Xenon headlights, sunroof and eight-speaker audio are standard.
