Frontline camper van camper. My parents bought the van still under warranty in 2010 and had Frontline Campers convert it into the awesome pop-top camper it is today. The conversion is high quality, ergonomic and simple to use.
Poptop - 15sec seconds to set up. Plenty of headroom. Has zippered windows with insect screens and ceiling lights
Seating/bed. - 30 sec to convert twin lounge seats into a very comfortable queen bed.
Privacy - Dark tinted windows with blockout curtains for all windows. Complete privacy in about 1 minute.
Fit-out - Has built in drawers, cupboards, a swing out kitchen cabinet (never used), extendable prep bench with sink and running water, dining table, loads of storage under seats. Upright fridge, dual battery, fresh water tank, grey water tank, towbar and electrics, 240v power inlet, 25amp extension lead included along with for hooking up to site power. Includes kitchen equipment
The good.
* Awesome conversion. Dad planned many trips but mum preferred the comforts of home so it has only been used a handful of times for its intended purpose. Most of its life spent driving between Woolworths and home.
* Fully engineered with compliance certification.
* Mechanically it has been extremely reliable. The water pump once had a slight leak which Toyota replaced. Once had a shudder when breaking which was fixed by Advance Auto. That’s it!
* Complete service record with 90% done by Toyota and the rest done by Advance Auto.
* New quality front tyres
* Seats always covered so they look brand new. Expensive sheep skin covers are included but are currently off so you can see the seats.
* Non smokers
The bad.
* The van has never been in a road accident but it suffered from various car park mishaps
* Has a scrape down the left side where dad drove too close to a carpark sign
* The left side of plastic bumper was knocked when parking too close to a gutter. Behind the plastic is a small radiator which Advance Auto discovered was slightly bent. He ran a pressure test on the radiator and piping and found zero issues. Never had a problem.
* The poptop roof has about 3 holes no bigger than 5mm caused by driving under one of those swinging height warning signs as you enter undercover car parks. He was a touch too high! They have been sealed using 3m all weather sealing tape. It actually never leaked and many years later it continues to not leak but I’ve replaced it with fresh tape anyway so good for another 15 years or more.
* The flat tongue of the tow bar was packed away and never seen again. Easy to source if you could be bothered. Has wiring harness for towing. Two bolts to hold it on.
* The conversion came with a Fiamma f45 awning which was damaged and never replaced. The mounting brackets are still on the van so fitting a new awning would only take minutes. Awning new is $1300. Regularly available on marketplace used for $100-$400
* A couple of other cosmetic dings. All shown in the pics
* I will sell this van in the spirit that I would want if I were buying a car from someone. There will be nothing hidden, no lies told and all the vehicles history provided. As such I won’t deal with tricky people. I’ll ignore low ball offers, no part payments from your cousin ect, no holds unless non-refundable deposit made, no tyre kickers. If I get a sniff you’re wasting my time I’ll block you.
* If you can live with the few cosmetic imperfections you’ll own an extremely reliable, well executed high quality camper. Will pass any mechanical inspection.
