Selling my 2008 Renault Megane sedan. This was my first car in Australia — bought it during my PhD, and it carried me through everything smoothly. Mechanically it’s solid. Always serviced by professionals. Transmission oil changed recently, one tyre replaced, and a couple years ago the radiator and a few other things were done. I can’t remember every detail, but anytime the mechanic made a suggestion, I just got it fixed.
Paint is all original. Never crashed. That said — the top clear coat is not very good. Roof look rough now, partly faded. I actually bought matching touch-up paint and clear coat from Supercheap back when I got the car, but after testing a little bit I just let it be. Will pass the bottle to the next owner in case you want to fix it.
Interior is usable. Some seat stains here and there. I’ve had a brand-new seat cover set and will include that if you want— it’s never been used. Front passenger window currently doesn’t work, but I bought a replacement new motor and window regulator (worth $300) will install it myself before handing the car over. That’s a job I’m doing as my last bit of respect for the car — no cost to you.
One more thing — a mechanic once mentioned the engine stand (mount) might not be perfect. He quoted around $300 for a second-hand one but also said for an old car like this, just no need. I didn’t replace it and the car has still been driving just fine. If you want to get it done later to make the car a little bit smoother, you can. Just being transparent.
The car still drives well, sporty feeling. I manually waxed it every year or two, so it still looks quite sleek from the sides and back. It’s not one of those cheap tin-can cars. A dealer once told me $800 would make it perfect — new paint, deep clean, minor parts — but honestly, I’ve decided to price it fairly lower and let the next driver decide.
1. Paint Kit + DIY Offer
I’ve got the full paint kit ready (four bottles worth $150) for the roof — just haven’t had the time to finish it myself. I’ll include it for free so the next owner can do it as a simple DIY. Should only take 2–3 hours if you’re keen. If you’d prefer me to get it done before handover, I can do it for an extra $200.

2. Error Light Transparency
There’s a sensor-related warning light showing. I haven’t paid the $30 to get a mechanic to clear the code — which is what most people do when selling — but I’d rather just be upfront. It’s an old electric clock sensor, very common, and doesn’t affect the car’s driving at all. If needed, I’m happy to clear it before sale.
I’ve now got three cars and no room left on the street. This one needs a new home.

(Car ready for inspection from July
The car is priced reasonably already for its condition, so I’m only open to small negotiation for serious buyers who come inspect it)
