Selling my much-loved 2008 Lexus IS250 manual – a car I’ve genuinely enjoyed every single day of ownership. I’ve had it since 130,000km and have taken a lot of pride in keeping it in excellent condition with regular servicing, careful driving, and consistent washing and upkeep. It’s been a reliable, smooth, and rewarding car to own, especially being one of the rarer manual IS250s.
This car has always been run on premium fuel only and maintained properly, not just driven. I’ve made a few tasteful and practical upgrades to improve daily usability and ownership experience, including aftermarket reversing sensors, a Bluetooth audio module, a Blackvue 1080p dash cam and a 3IS front bumper conversion, which will all be included with the sale.
One of the common issues with these cars is the notorious sticky Lexus interior plastics. – While it’s present, I’ve mitigated it by fitting a dash mat to protect the surface and prevent further wear. It’s something many IS250s experience with age, especially with the Aussie sun. The car also has a chip on the front windscreen, this was assessed by O'brein and deemed it was purely cosmetic.
Mechanically, the car is in great shape. I’ve also addressed another known issue with these cars – the catalytic converters can develop a rotten egg smell over time. To fix this permanently, I’ve installed an Invidia mid pipe, which has completely eliminated the problem and improved the exhaust note slightly without being intrusive.
The gearbox and shifter feel tight and precise, with the shifter recently rebuilt using brand new OEM washers and bushings.
The car will be sold with a Roadworthy Certificate (RWC), ready for the next owner and rego until June.
I’m only selling because I’ve recently upgraded to a Lexus RC, otherwise I’d happily keep it – it’s been that good to me.
