I'm regretfully selling this car but need the space in my garage. My daily car has been sitting outside while the Calais has taken place in our garage. It has been unregistered for a number of years as I have been preserving it for the future but other priorities have taken over.
In the time I have owned it, I have made subtle but reversible changes to ensure it can be restored to factory standard. The engine internals are untouched.
It has a powerbond harmonic balancer fitted in standard size. The originals are known to be unreliable.
It has a vcm cold air intake fitted and the original air box is available. I have installed genuine HSV headers with the heat shields to preserve the factory look. A GTS exhaust is also fitted with the vacuum operated butterflies and a remote solenoid. Tips have not been installed as it is something I never got around to doing. I also have the full original exhaust, headers and cats, plus a pair of xforce mufflers and nice tips. These were fitted with the original exhaust only as they are flanged unlike the gts exhaust.
The car had pedders super-low springs with standard shocks when I bought it. I replaced the front only with pedders low springs to lift it a little and make the car more practical. I think it sits ideally. It has Monroe gt shortened struts and polyelast top mounts. These are a hybrid rubber so not too firm and also don't sag like every other rubber mount. I have spare pedders rear low springs amd brand new shortened shocks.
The car has travelled less than 52000 km. Being the 2008 model, it has the 270kW engine without the cylinder deactivation. The transmission does have the rev-matching downshifts unlike earlier models. It hasn't had any ecu tuning so maintains smooth operation.
The wheels are the 20" HSV supersport and these are factory optioned accompanied by the hsvi compliance plate.
The car overall is in very good condition and has travelled very low kms compared to most others on the market.
