Up for sale is a rare and unique example of the pinnacle from Chris Bangle's hottest hits (*purely subjective opinion) at BMW. This beautiful BMW Z4 Coupe is fantastic specimen of contemporary classic motoring that defines the 2000s era. With the final Z4 production wound up in March 2026, this marks the end of an era for the Z series and what will be an appreciating part of the BMW history.
The Z4 Coupe concept first unveiled in the 2005 Frankfurt Motorshow and later sold from 2006 with a 3 year production resulting in 17,094 produced worldwide, of which only 260 made their way to Australia, 157 as the Z4 3.0si coupes, a small fraction as manuals.
This particular example is a 2007 Z4 coupe presented in Black Sapphire Metallic with a red (Traumrot) interior. The 6-speed ZF manual coupled with the legendary 3.0L inline 6 magnesium-alloy-blocked 24-valve DOHC N52B30 is a fabled pairing for a thrilling driving experience and reliability for trouble free ownership.
What makes this the perfect Z4 Coupe is the combination of desirable options that represents the ultimate driving machine that BMW have produced over the decades allowing this Z4 to age gracefully into the current decade. This factory manual Z4 comes with delivered with the body-hugging heated M Sport seats, M Sport steering wheel, and a business radio with 6 CD changer meaning no clunky CCC (iDrive) system to distract you. The business radio has been retrofitted with a Bluetooth kit connected to the AUX input to preserve the feel and originality of the car but allow for modern day music streaming from your device on those scenic drives.
Now, the flaws and blemishes. Being an almost 20 year old car, it has its marks of history and previous lives. This Z4 does not have its original books with it anymore so it does not have any written history with it. However, this example does exhibit signs of care and maintenance throughout its low mileage. A recent service at 100,000kms included engine oil and filter, air and pollen filter, spark plugs, gearbox oil, and differential oil change. The wheels on the Z4 currently are Style 135 whereas this originally came fitted with Style 203. Other issues to mention are a few minor dents on the passenger side, a small hole in the headliner, and minor gutter rash on the wheels.
Below is the list of options that this Z4 came with from factory.
