For those who have not driven a BMW 5 series, it truly is an exciting and impressive vehicle to drive. This seventeen year old vehicle was built with a quality that has lasted through time. It feels sturdy, sits well on the road, has great sports seats and is comfortable throughout.
The steering in this marque is unique (BMW call it Dynamic drive and Active Steering), you have a heavier, safer feel over most other brands of car in this category, including Mercedes Benz, Audi, Jaguar.
If you like a sedan you may want to consider buying a BMW 5 series, for this price you will be hard pressed to find anything that matches it in a new vehicle up to the $50,000 price point.
The six cylinder engine is superb, it cruises well, accelerates smoothly and is reliable. I have only needed to carry out the following maintenance: changing oil, oil filter, spark plugs, belt pulley, a light bulb, a park light bulb.
The transmission is also smooth and robust, you can manually change gears on the automatic gear shift and the shift cannot almost not be felt.
A number of people may think it is too expensive to own a german vehicle, however that is not the case. The services are between $250 - $700 at BMW dealerships and there are many trusted European garages that are familiar with this brand and charge less.
Cost of tyres, brakes, light bulbs and general replacement engine parts can be less than $300. A full tank costs approximately $80 - $95 on 98+ and provides you with over 600km of driving in city and freeways.

- Logbooks are available for the car, the last service at BMW was in 2010
- The vehicle has since been serviced and has no issues (mechanically wise)
- The paint is in great condition, the photos you see of the vehicle are without it being detailed so keep in mind if you detail it, it will look even better.
