This very low kilometre example has had 2 mature owners over the last 20 years and has always been garaged in that time. The car comes with all Mercedes owners books, along with service invoices over that period, showing an excellent Mercedes dealer or respected Mercedes specialist workshop service history.
This model was once described to me as the “pick of the litter” in the R230 SL range as it is fitted with the bullet-proof M112 3.7 Litre motor, rather than the later and problematic M272 3.5 motor, and has conventional suspension rather than the complicated and expensive ABC suspension fitted to the V8 models. It therefore provides very reliable and relatively economical motoring.
This example is finished in the special order colour of Topaz Blue (946) with light grey interior (208). It presents beautifully in every respect and is ready for daily or recreational use by its next owner. It will be eligible for historic registration in South Australia on 1 January 2029, and likely about then in other states which offer a similar scheme.
