Offered for sale is the first ever F6 Typhoon sedan built by FPV. Built in August of 2004, two months before official production began, it was once thought to have been retained and stored by FPV. It is being offered for sale for the first time in over 7 years.
It is presented in immaculate original condition, having never been modified. It is a complete matching numbers car retaining all its original factory drivetrain. Suspension was spec’d up to a John Bowe package by a previous owner at the first selling dealer (Lane Ford, WA), and this setup has been retained.
P0001 has spent the last 7 years in dry storage, under a cover and unregistered. It has been slowly brought up to an excellent and original survivor standard before being offered for sale. A thorough interior, exterior and under-guard detail has been completed throughout, with parts being restored or replaced only as necessary for best presentation and preservation. This includes a full set of genuine new Brembo brake calipers (inc. rotors, pads, lines and hardware), a brand new genuine steering rack, rebuilt tailshaft and other service items. Even the original tyres have been sourced (Dunlop SP Sport 9000), and the original clutch has been verified as still fitted (AP Racing twin-plate).
Those who understand the history of the XR6 Turbo, F6 and other iconic late model cult Australian muscle car market will immediately recognise this car’s current and future potential as a high level collector car. There is a FULL and verified history, with all paperwork and documentation to support its status / provenance. There is photo verification and proof which align this car’s history as a display and marketing vehicle for FPV, upon the F6 Typhoon model release in September 2004 at the Sydney Motor show. There is also documentation, photos and history to verify it as THE FIRST F6 Typhoon body built.
The F6 has been priced according to the market of other special or celebrated Australian built cars, which have only sky-rocketed since Australian production ceased. Those special or celebrated cars include the last XE ESP V8, last Commodore VF2 SS (last body shop and last celebrated by GMH), BA GT P-001, VS GTS-R build #1, last XR6 Turbo Sprint, last FPV GT-F (sold in 2014 and 2021) and HSV GTS-R Build #1.
